Mont-Mégantic National Park is a unique site for landscape photography. Streams, ponds, and mountains await us in all seasons. It's in this peaceful environment that we'll meet to improve our photography techniques.

What is included in this workshop

  • Training with several different points of view.
  • Exclusive Online Course - Basic Editing in Lightroom (YouTube).
  • Carpooling (round trip) for those who prefer to leave their car at my place (La Patrie).
  • 7 hours of outdoor training.
  • Reminder of the main aspects covered during the training (pdf format).

Cancellation - postponement of the event

  • No cancellation is possible one week (7 calendar days) before the event.

  • In the event of uncontrollable natural events, the organizer reserves the right to postpone the workshop if the safety of the participants is at risk.

During the workshop I will cover the following topics:

  1. How to find a composition.
  2. Thinking before capturing a photo.
  3. How to create a compelling image by combining light, composition, and technique.
  4. The use of filters (polarizing, neutral density).
  5. Using slow shutter speeds for long exposures.
  6. Shooting in RAW mode and using the histogram to get the perfect exposure.
  7. Focusing techniques, including manual focus and back focus button.
  8. Tame and control the camera in manual mode.
  9. Make sure you have a story to tell.

Required photography equipment and clothing

  • DSLR or Mirrorless Camera
  • Tripod
  • Polarizing and/or neutral density filters (optional)
  • Spare batteries
  • Clothing appropriate for the season
  • Hiking boots
  • Lunch

Daily access to the SEPAQ Park

Physical condition

The Mont-Mégantic National Park's Treetops Trail (Franceville sector) is 11.9 km long and is an intermediate trail. Good physical condition is required. The return journey will be via the Talweg Trail.
